Ngapali
A mere 25-minute hop by air from Yangon to Thandwe airport, Ngapali
is miles and miles of silver sand and crystal clear water lapped by
the Bay of Bengal, with little villages clustered under the shade of
the palm trees.
Apart from swimming, sunbathing and snorkeling, early morning sees the fishermen setting out or returning from an overnight trip, while the women spread out small fish to dry on Bamboo mats-some are even tucked into their hats. Those fishermen villages are in a walking or bicycle distance away. The best time to visit the beach is from mid-October to mid-May,
when there are daily flights operating to Ngapali from above mentioned
places. One can also fly from Bagan or Heho to Ngapali after a completing
visit to the highlight destinations.
