Mrauk Oo & Sittwe

Landmark Shit-Thaun Pagoda and its pleasant surrounding in Mrauk Oo

The west region of the Rakhine state and its vicinity can be explored by flying to Sittwe from Yangon. Flying is almost the only option as the boat and road transport can be from extremely difficult to impossible. It has almost everyday flight connection with Yangon during the peak season. However, one can fly either from Bagan and Heho via one night or more transit in Ngapali beach due to limited time allowance between flights.
